What is the ScoreCenter feature in SoftChalk? Do you recommend that I use this feature rather than SCORM to collect scores from my students in the Blackboard Grade Center?

We highly recommend using the SoftChalk ScoreCenter feature. (We've also seen issues using the SCORM format with Blackboard.)

The ScoreCenter feature allows you to collect reliable, detailed student scores in the Blackboard Grade Center. (Please make sure you have the latest version of SoftChalk - see the FAQ What is the latest update for SoftChalk Create? How do I find out if I have the latest update?)

With the ScoreCenter feature when students take a  SoftChalk lesson, their scores will appear in the Blackboard Grade Center. The scoring works for both Windows and Macintosh users.

With the ScoreCenter feature, you can:

  • Set the number of times a student can access the lesson
  • Set the score in the Grade Center to be the first score, the highest score, the average score or the last score for the lesson
  • View detailed scoring information for each student attempt
  • Revise the text in a ScoreCenter lesson.

Yes, we highly recommend that you use the ScoreCenter feature rather than SCORM to collect scores in the Blackboard Grade Center. (Non of the above features are available with SCORM.)

The ScoreCenter feature is available for:
