When I try to save a lesson or learning object to SoftChalk Cloud, I get a message "Error uploading package. Extraction failed" and "uploaded=false." What should I do?

Please make sure you have the latest update of the desktop version of SoftChalk. Please see the FAQ What is the latest update for SoftChalk Create? How do I find out if I have the latest update?

ISSUE with Older Updates of SoftChalk (see below)

Please check to see that you do not have smart quotes or smart apostrophes within your Metadata. Within your SoftChalk application, choose Properties/Metadata. Make sure no smart quotes appear (see below). If you are trying to publish a learning object (activity or quiz group), select the Metadata tab for your specific activity or quiz group. (The Metadata tab appears when you modify the item.)

Smart quotes are quotation marks with curves that you may have copied and pasted from another program. (Smart apostrophes have curves as well.) You can use quotation marks and apostrophes, but you must type them in the Metadata area (and not copy and paste snart quotes and smart apostrophes from somewhere else).

If you don't have smart quotes or smart apostrophes, you may have a firewall issue. Please see the FAQ I think my institution has a firewall that is preventing me from saving content to SoftChalk Cloud. What should I do?
