How do I uninstall and re-install Java?
Our content authoring program, SoftChalk Create, uses Java to run. If you have a problem starting SoftChalk Create (either our web launch version or our desktop version), you may need to uninstall and re-install Java. Please see the steps below.
STEPS:
- From your desktop, click on the Start Menu (or Start ball) at the lower left of your screen.
- Go to the Control Panel.
- Click on Programs and Features.
- Select Java and click Uninstall. IMPORTANT: If you have multiple versions of Java, please uninstall all instances.
- IMPORTANT: Restart your computer.
- Install Java from the link http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp (A jxpiinstall.exe file will download to your computer. Click on this file to install Java.)
- After Java is installed, log into SoftChalk Cloud and choose My Content/Create Content.
