How do I uninstall and re-install Java?

Our content authoring program, SoftChalk Create, uses Java to run. If you have a problem starting SoftChalk Create (either our web launch version or our desktop version), you may need to uninstall and re-install Java. Please see the steps below.
STEPS:

  1. From your desktop, click on the Start Menu (or Start ball) at the lower left of your screen. 
  2. Go to the Control Panel.
  3. Click on Programs and Features.
  4. Select Java and click Uninstall.  IMPORTANT: If you have multiple versions of Java, please uninstall all instances.
  5. IMPORTANT: Restart your computer.
  6. Install Java from the link http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp (A jxpiinstall.exe file will download to your computer. Click on this file to install Java.)
  7. After Java is installed, log into SoftChalk Cloud and choose My Content/Create Content.
