How does a student resume an attempt?
1 | The first time a student launches the SoftChalk linked assignment, they will see the message indicating they successfully connected to ScoreCenter and reminds them to click the Finish button on the last page to submit their score. The student will click the Continue button to access the lesson material.
2 | As students work through the lesson, they will want to ensure that they've submitted any individual scored Quiz or Activity items using the appropriate ‘Check Answers'/'Finish' actions prior to leaving their attempt. Otherwise the lesson will not retain that information when they resume.
3 | SoftChalk content is intended to allow a student to begin an attempt, leave the attempt if needed (or the power goes out), and are able to resume their ‘in-progress’ attempt with their responses and score intact. Students can simply close the browser tab to leave the attempt. Their attempt will remain ‘in-progress’ as long as they do not click the Finish button on the last page. When the student returns and launches a SoftChalk link assignment again, they are offered the option to Resume their attempt. |  |
 | They can click Feedback and Previous Attempts. This is where students would view feedback the instructor provides in ScoreCenter using the ‘Give Feedback’ Actions menu option. In addition, their attempt status ('Incomplete') and earned score (2.0) can be viewed here. Students can also see the ScoreCenter Grading Method, Maximum Attempts options, as well as the score possible for the lesson. They cannot reach the lesson from this window.  Students would need to re-launch the SoftChalk linked assignment to resume their attempt. |  |
4 | Clicking the Finish button on the last page of the lesson will ‘complete’ their attempt. The score they captured during their attempt is pushed to ScoreCenter and the LMS gradebook. |
