I am the course instructor. I see "Started" and “Completed” times. The status indicates “Completed”. However, the questions indicate "Not Attempted". Does “Completed” mean the student clicked “Finished” even though they did not attempt any questions?

  • The ‘Started’ time begins when the student clicks to launch the SoftChalk Cloud linked assignment.
When the student launches the assignment, they will see the popup message indicating they need to click the ‘Finish’ button at the end of the lesson. They will click Continue to access the assignment. (This is the ‘Started’ time.)

  • The ‘Ended’ time is when the student clicks the Finish button at the bottom of the last page in the lesson.
Clicking the ‘Finish’ button at the end of the lesson will ‘Complete’ the student attempt and push their score to the LMS gradebook.

  • Status: ‘Completed’ indicates the student clicked the ‘Finish’ button on the last page of the lesson to complete their attempt.
(If you use the ‘Complete Attempts’ Actions menu option, the status would also display as ‘Completed’.)

For Example:

From what we can see here, this student clicked on the SoftChalk assignment (start time), spent 3 minutes and 18 seconds before clicking the Finish button at the end of the lesson (completed time).

The N/A icon and 0.0 score indicate the student either did not attempt the questions or did not click the appropriate ‘Check Answer’ button for each quiz popper or complete each activity in the lesson.
