How do I incorporate my video project into a lesson? (Examples of video projects may include Camtasia, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Flash, Adobe Premiere, Articulate Engage, Articulate Presenter, Articulate QuizMaker and Articulate Storyline.)


With a SoftChalk Cloud account, you can upload a .zip package of your video project into your SoftChalk Cloud account. Then you can reference this video in one or multiple lessons. If you need to update the video, you can update it once in the Cloud. See the steps below. Upload Your Video 

  1. Log into your SoftChalk Cloud account.
  2. Choose My Content/My Files.
  3. Under the Actions menu at the right, select Upload Files.
  4. Under Destination, select the folder into which you want to upload your files 
  5. Click Browse to select your .zip packaged file or drag your file over.
  6. Select the name of the entry file for your video. If you do not see a list of files, please see our FAQ I am having a problem uploading my complex files (i.e. .zip file) using the Cloud My Content / Files / Upload Files feature. What should I do?
  7. Click OK.

Reference the Video in a SoftChalk Lesson 

  1. Start SoftChalk Create (in your Cloud account, you can choose My Content/Create Content.)
  2. Choose Insert/SoftChalk Cloud Item. Select the .zip file and click Insert.
  3. Save and preview your lesson.
  4. IMPORTANT: Depending on the size of your video, you may need to adjust the dimensions. Within your SoftChalk lesson, right-click on the Widget Placeholder gray box and choose Modify Widget. Change the numbers for height and width.

Update Your Video in the Cloud

  1. Log into your SoftChalk Cloud account.
  2. Choose My Content/My Files.
  3. Find your .zip file and click on the first icon, which is the Replace File icon.
  4. Click Browse to select your .zip packaged file or drag your file over.
  5. Select the name of the entry file for your video.
  6. Click OK. Any references to this video in your SoftChalk lessons will be updated.
