It's easy to change your content's Metadata, for example, adding a description and saving your changes back to SoftChalk Cloud. For details see below.


Add a Description to a Lesson


  1. Open your SoftChalk lesson. (From your logged in Cloud account, select My Content / Lessons. Click on the name of your lesson. Scroll down at the lower right under Lesson Actions, select Edit Lesson in SoftChalk Create.)
  2. Choose File/Save to SoftChalk Cloud.
  3. Click the Metadata button.
  4. On the Keywords & Details tab, enter a description in the Description field. Feel free to enter keywords as well. (Keywords are not required but help others search for your content.) If you have not already done so, click the Subjects and Levels tab and select a subject(s) or level(s). Click OK.
  5. Save your lesson back to SoftChalk Cloud - File/Save to SoftChalk Cloud.


Add a Description to a SoftChalk Cloud Item


  1. Start SoftChalk Create. (From your logged in Cloud account, choose My Content/Create Content.)
  2. Choose Insert/SoftChalk Cloud Item.
  3. Click click the + sign for the My Learning Objects area.
  4. Click a learning object to select it.
  5. Click Insert and then click Close.
  6. Right-click on the activity and choose Save to SoftChalk Cloud.
  7. IMPORTANT: Enter a Description. (This description will become part of the Metadata.)
  8. If it's not already selected, select the item you plan to replace at the right.
  9. For the privacy option, select Public if you plan to make this content public.
  10. Click Replace.
