It is not possible to change usernames as the username is the unique identifier for your SoftChalk content. However, you can create a new account with a new username, create a folder to be shared with the new user and then copy your content into the shared folder.

IMPORTANT: The hyperlinks and LTI hyperlinks for your content as a new user will be different when copied into the new account.

  1. Log into your original SoftChalk Cloud account.

 2.  Click on the My Content tab at the top.

 3.  Click the Lessons link.

 4.  Under Actionsat the right, click Create Folder.

 5.  Enter a folder title and click Create Folder.

 6.  The page will automatically refresh and navigate to your Lessons list.

Scroll down to find your folder. Click the Share icon to the right of the folder name (it looks like a person).

 7.  Under Add Trial or Subscription User(s), enter the new username you just created and click Add Users (the plus sign).

 8.  The username will appear under the Shared Trial or Subscription User(s) list. Click Share Folder to save your changes.

Expand
titleAdd content to the newly created folder

In your My Content>Lessons list you will see the words (Shared by me) beside your folder name. This indicates that you have shared the folder. Image Modified

Expand the folder by clicking on the folder icon at the left of the title.

Drag content you have already created in SoftChalk into the expanded folder.


Click the folder icon to expand the new folder.

Navigate to the lesson you have already created content.

Place your cursor over the lesson title. The cursor will display
as a 4-way icon.

Click to drag the lesson below the Name-Type-Size-Privacy
title bar of the expanded folder.


You can drag your lessons into any folder you have created.

IMPORTANT:You cannot drag a lesson into a folder that is
shared with your account.



Click on the image at the right to view a video demonstrating how to
drag your lesson into a shared folder.


Create new content into the expanded folder.


You can quickly create new content directly in the shared folder.

Next to the folder title, click on the + sign to launch Create Online.

titleCopy the shared lesson into the new account


  1. Log into your new username account.

 2.  Click on the My

Content>Lessons

Content>Lessons tab at the top.

 3.  Scroll down to find the shared folder. Click on the name of a lesson within the folder.

 4.  Under Lesson Actions on the bottom right, click Copy Lesson to My Content.

 5.  The lesson will now be listed with the 'same title copy' under your Lessons folder. Click on the name of the lesson 'copy'.

 6.  Under Lesson Actions on the bottom right, click Edit Lesson Properties.

 7.  Here you can change the name of the lesson if you wish (for example, delete "copy" from the name of the lesson) or adjust other lesson properties (i.e., Description, Privacy, Keywords, etc..)

 8.  Click Save Changes.


Please reach out to SoftChalk Support and we can de-activate your previous username. (If you have one account for one activation key, we can activate your new account for you.)

*As noted previously, the hyperlinks and LTI hyperlinks for the copied lessons are different from those for the original lesson. If you previously linked to the original hyperlink, you will need to replace it with the new hyperlink to the lesson in the new username account.
