I am a Blackboard Administrator. We have reports from faculty that sometimes student grades don't appear in the ScoreCenter. This issue seems to be sporadic. What should I do?
If you have faculty using the desktop version of SoftChalk, please do the following two things:
Make sure you have the latest building block - see the FAQ
I am a Blackboard Administrator. What is the latest version for the SoftChalk Publish with ScoreCenter building block?
Be sure to DELETE the previous building block BEFORE installing the updated buillding block.
Please re-start your Blackboard instance. (The notice below was sent to bbamins on Thursday, May 12, 2011).
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We upgraded our Connect and ScoreCenter servers to prepare for higher usage, provide faster access for our customers, and improve our backup infrastructure. Part of this upgrade required that our IP address change. (This change occurred late Monday, May 9, 2011).
For most of our customers, there was no disruption in service. However, some customers experienced the issue below that we want you to know about.
ISSUE
Some clients experienced errors when trying to publish SoftChalk lessons as ScoreCenter items within SoftChalk. (File/Publish Lesson/(publishing a ScoreCenter item). For instance, you may have gotten an error message, "error uploading package - authentication failed" when you tried to publish a ScoreCenter item (even though you had the correct access code and server address).
We believe there is an issue where java's dns cache is pointing to the previous IP address. See the solution below.
SOLUTION
Restart your Blackboard instance. If re-starting your Blackboard instance does not resolve the issue, please email help@softchalk.com for support.
