How do I modify a Learning Object, Lesson, or File found on the SoftChalk Share repository?

Log into your SoftChalk Cloud account.

Click on Create Lesson under the Actions menu at the left under the My Content>Lessons area of your SoftChalk Cloud account.

Choose the Insert Learning Object icon from the Create Online toolbar.

Navigate to the item in the Learning Objects repository tree.

You may need to expand the folder to view saved items.

Click on the saved Learning Object to highlight and click OK.

The Learning Object placeholder will appear in the lesson page.

Right-click on the placeholder to select Modify Activity (or ‘Modify Quiz Group’).

Here, you can use the activity editor to modify the Learning Object to better suit your needs.

When you have finished editing the Learning Object, click OK.

You’ll return to the lesson page.

Right-click on the Learning Object placeholder and select Save to Cloud.

Choose a folder to save the item to and enter a name for the item.

This title will appear under the My Content/Learning Objects area of your SoftChalk Cloud account.

Click OK.

Log into your SoftChalk Cloud account.

Navigate to the copied lesson title under the My Content>Lessons area of your SoftChalk Cloud account.

Click on the Edit icon (pencil) to open the lesson in the Create Online editor.

Modify the lesson material to better suit your needs in Create Online.

When you have finished making changes, be sure to click the Save and Preview icons to update and view the changes that have been made to the lesson.

Log into your SoftChalk Cloud account.

Go to the My Content>Files area of your SoftChalk Cloud account.

Navigate to and click on the File title you want to download and modify locally on your computer.

Choose the Download File option from the Actions menu at the right.

The file will download to your web browser’s default location.

You can use editors such as Microsoft Word, Paint, or Excel that are already installed on your computer.

Once you have modified the File using an application on your local computer, you can upload the new file into the My Content/Files area of your SoftChalk Cloud account.

Choose the Upload File option from the Actions menu at the left.

Click on Choose Files to locate or Drag & Drop your file.

Once the upload file(s) appear listed, click the Upload button.

The page will refresh and automatically display the uploaded files.

To insert the copied File into your lesson

Log into your SoftChalk Cloud account.

Choose the iFrame icon from the Create Online toolbar.

Select Cloud File Link Source and click on Select File.

Navigate to the item in the File repository tree.

You may need to expand the folder to view saved items.

Click on the saved File to highlight and click OK.

The iframe placeholder will appear in the lesson page.

Double-click on the placeholder to modify other properties.

Here, you can add a title, description, adjust the iframe size or enable scrollbars.

When you have finished editing the iFrame properties, click OK.

You’ll return to the lesson page.

Click the Save and Preview button to save and view the changes to the lesson.
