How do I link to a file within my lesson?

You can create a link to a file from your lesson by using the Hyperlink feature in SoftChalk.

STEPS

  1. In Create Online, select some text. (optional)

2. Click on the Link icon in the Create Online toolbar.

3. Enter the Text to Display and Destination link title. (required)

If you selected text before opening the Link menu, the Text to Display field will automatically include the selected text.

4. Choose the appropriate file source Link Type and use Select File to locate the file.
(If using a URL Link Type, paste the URL for the file.)

5. Click OK.

6. It's a good idea to select a New Window target if you're going to another website.

Otherwise, your students may leave your lesson if the target is <not set> and never come back to the lesson.

7. Click OK.

For details on file types you can link to, see the FAQ What types of files can I hyperlink to in my lesson?

You can create links to files or Websites in the text of your Tooltips, Sidebars, and QuizPopper questions as well as in your main content window.
