What is SoftChalk Create? How do I get it?

SoftChalk Create is a content authoring program that is easy to use (like a word processor) but allows you to make your lessons engaging and interactive for your students directly on your local computer. You can put various activities and quiz groups into your lessons. SoftChalk Create is part of your subscription SoftChalk Cloud account.

To install SoftChalk Create, do the following steps:

  1. Log into your SoftChalk Cloud account and navigate to your My Content/Lessons area.

  2. Click on Create Lesson/Use SoftChalk Create.

  3. A pop-up will appear where you will select one of  two options, Download for Windows or Download for Macintosh.

  4. Save File and run the .exe or .dmg file for your machine.

  5. After you have downloaded SoftChalk Create, log into your SoftChalk Cloud account and choose Create Lesson/Use SoftChalk Create again. This process automatically syncs your SoftChalk Cloud account with the SoftChalk Create app.

Once completed, you can start SoftChalk Create several ways:

  • Double-Click on the SoftChalk Create icon on your desktop

  • Log into your SoftChalk Cloud account

    • Choose Create Lesson/Use SoftChalk Create

    • Or under My Content, click on the name of a lesson. At the bottom right, click Edit Lesson / Edit in Create
